Trump’s Linguistic Faux Pas, Pronounced Thailand As Thigh-land
Donald Trump is at it again in wanting to be the top meme-d popular personality of 2020.
In a campaign event where he groused about perceived unfair trade, Trump dropped a linguistic faux pas by pronouncing Thailand as Thigh-land.
That’s right. He basically called the land of smiles the land of thighs.
“Foreign competitors… shifting production to Thigh-land”
However, he managed to correct his pronunciation in the next few sentences, expressing his fondness for the leaders of Thailand and Vietnam for being “very nice to us”.
Twitter of course had a field time with Trump’s antics and the netizens are making #trumpthighland trending.
I'd pay good money to watch Trump pronounce this name #Trump #TrumpThighland #Thighland #Trump2020Landslide #TrumpIsNotWell #TrumpIsUnwell pic.twitter.com/cYdnJFP7ga — Yankee G??? (@YankeeGiovanniC) August 7, 2020
One question. Where’s Thighland??? ???#trumpthighland — Cynthia (@Cynthia44122102) August 6, 2020
This sounds legit though.
Who doesn’t? It is spicy, juicy and hot.
At the end of the day, we are kinda resigned.
Reporter’s Opinion: I don’t know who is funnier, Biden with his episodes or Trump trying desperately to hold on to whatever popularity he has left till the next election.
The correct pronunciation of Thailand is apparently “Tai-land”
Trump’s supporters are trying to make his faux pas legit. It’s not bro, your accent doesn’t justify a mispronunciation. That is just your privilege speaking.
Let me see how you justify his nonsense if he gives your name a new pronunciation, Dinesh.
