Industry experts had allegedly warned OceanGate Expeditions CEO, Rush Stockton, not to proceed with the experimental sub, predicting that one failure could lead to death.
Unfortunately, Rush Stockton himself became a victim of the sub's catastrophic failure.
Industry experts cited several concerns with the sub's design, including the use of an elongated body to carry more paying passengers instead of the industry standard spherical body.
The craft's operation system was also unconventional, with a repurposed gaming controller used to navigate some of the most treacherous depths of the ocean.
Following preliminary investigations, the sub likely imploded shortly after the expedition started, instantly killing all 5 on board.
Apart from the company's own CEO, the other victims of the accident were British businessman Hamish Harding, French diver and Titanic researcher Paul Henri Nargeolet and Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, family members of a prominent Pakistani Family.
