South Korean DJ Youn Sung-ho, known as NewJeansNim, will be barred from performing in Singapore, as announced by Minister K. Shanmugam.

Known for blending Buddhist teachings with electronic dance music, Youn's performances have sparked controversy.
Scheduled to perform at Club Rich in June, his shows were cancelled after concerns raised by the Singapore Buddhist Federation, citing disrespect to Buddhist traditions.

This decision follows similar backlash in Malaysia, where his performance offended local Buddhists.
Youn, supported by South Korea’s Jogye Order, has been credited with reviving Buddhism's popularity among the youth in his home country but has faced challenges abroad due to cultural sensitivities.
Netizens applaud the decision made to bar the performer, citing the performer to be offensive and disrespectful toward Buddhism. They thanked the Minister for his stance on the issue.
