On October 8, a Singtel service outage disrupted landline services for various institutions and businesses, including KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), banks, and emergency services.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) reported difficulties with the 995 and 999 emergency lines.

They advised the public to use alternative SMS numbers (70995 for SCDF and 70999 for SPF) while the issue was being resolved.
Singtel acknowledged the problem on Facebook, stating that their fixed voice services were intermittently down, though mobile services remained unaffected.
Businesses like DBS and UOB also reported disruptions in their customer service hotlines.

The issue was reported widely, with over 2,700 reports filed on Downdetector by 3.50pm.

Various other organizations, including clinics and community groups, were also affected.
Singtel engineers are working to fix the issue, and affected organizations urged for a quick resolution as the outage impacted operations and payment systems.
