Singaporean Uses Mechanical Engineering Calculations To Determine If Rolls Royce Driver Is Right Or

A Facebook user by the name of Bosco Lim Jiahe decided to put his mechanical engineering degree to good use by calculating the amount of free space needed for the driver to move his Rolls Royce.

Bosco started by establishing some facts about the weather that day which may have contributed to the fiasco. As we all know in Physics, distance and illusion can play a part in making judgment errors.
He then used the dimensions of the Rolls Royce provided on the website to ensure his calculations are as accurate as possible.
He calculated the clearance space needed for the Rolls Royce to move and the space left by the BMW in the parking slot.
He concluded by saying that the Rolls Royce had 49.38 cm for clearance.
Netizens were impressed by how Bosco took the time to turn the issue into a case study.
One said that Bosco’s Math teacher would have been proud.
There are those who hope that the examinations board won’t be inspired by his post.
As much as it is tempting to punish stupid drivers on the road, don’t resort to road rage.
At the end of the day, it is a matter of perspective. Perhaps the Rolls Royce driver did not want to scratch his car or damage the BMW by attempting to maneuver his car out of that small 30 cm space.
Reporter’s Opinion: In my opinion, both the BMW and RR drivers are wrong. It’s a small road, why are you cruising with a big car? And who the fuck gave you your driving licence when you can’t park properly? Then again, most BMW owners are entitled and believe they own the road.
This reminded me of a road congestion outside Downtown East near 18 Chefs drop-off which I witnessed but didn’t bother whipping out my phone to record. It was a stormy weekday night.
There was a small car parked near a coffee shop in front, near the road exit. Behind it was a big SUV that wasn’t moving and other cars started honking because they couldn’t move. People got angry and started blaming the SUV driver for being an idiot. What they didn’t see was towards the right side of the SUV was another small car that tried to cut and escape the congestion but got stuck there because of the small maneuvering space. They didn’t see the car that was parked in front of the SUV.
Due to the size of the SUV and bad visibility due to the heavy rain, cars at the back could not see the small space left due to other stupid drivers who thought that they owned the road.
Here’s the icing on the cake, a man came by and created a commotion. He knocked on the SUV’s window and flipped the driver for holding up the queue. As soon as the other car on the right managed to drive away, the SUV followed suit. The congestion cleared.
The man who created the commotion? He was the owner of the car that was parked near the coffee shop, near the road exit. The main culprit who caused the congestion diverted the attention craftily and forced the blame upon someone else.
When the actual culprit got into his car, the rest of the drivers at the back realized who the actual idiot was and they honked at him too as they were driving past.
Yeah, it’s a matter of perspective.
