Singapore and Indonesia's leader sit opposite each other

During the Joint Press Conference at the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat in Bogor, Indonesia, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong expressed gratitude towards President Joko Widodo for hosting what marked their final retreat together due to their impending leadership transitions.


Highlighting the strength of bilateral relations, PM Lee noted significant progress in defense and economic sectors, including the signing of a Joint Update on Defence Cooperation and an MOU on Digital Transformation. The leaders also discussed initiatives supporting the green economy, such as cross-border electricity trading and Carbon Capture and Storage.


Additionally, agreements on longstanding issues like airspace, defense, and extradition, which were recently finalized, exemplified the deep trust and mutual understanding between the nations.


PM Lee commended President Jokowi's leadership and his contributions to regional stability and economic growth, emphasizing the continuity and future cooperation expected under the incoming leaders, Pak Prabowo and DPM Lawrence Wong.
