Local TikToker, Fyan (@fyanofficial), posted a video recently where he called out Sheikh Banafe (@user127693140), for allegedly scamming him and many others of their money from his Airpods business. In the video, he accused Sheikh of disappearing after receiving money from his customers who placed their orders for his Airpods.
The video’s comment section was filled with people reporting the same experience.

In response to his allegation, Sheikh made a video where he acknowledged the accusations and tried to explain himself.
He explained that he started his Airpods business back in 2020 and it was going well up until late 2021 when the issue started. His supplier failed to provide him with the 20-30 Airpods he had ordered for his customers and even failed to provide him with a refund of the order. As such, when customers started demanding refunds, he could not process them due to a shortage of his own money, which in turn led to his customers filing police reports against him.
The police then advised him to refund his customers with his own pocket money in order to resolve the issue. Although he has not refunded all of his customers, he claimed to currently be in the process of doing so and even showed screenshots of the refund transfers in his video.

His customers labelled him as a scammer as they were not able to contact him and get their money back. However, he explained that reports were made against his main and Airpods account on Instagram along with his Telegram account which caused them to be deleted. Since he did not have backups of his customers’ contact details, he could not proactively reach back out to his customers to update them of the situation.
In his video, he insisted that he was not a scammer and admitted he should have kept better records of his customers’ details in case of such a situation and apologised for it. Before closing off the video, Sheikh urged his customers to comment on his TikTok (@user127693140) or DM his Instagram (@sheikhxbanafee) regarding their refund requests so that he can resolve them as soon as possible.
Many netizens commended his honesty and bravery in coming forth and addressing the situation.

Reporter’s Opinions: I can’t believe this was the same kid who performed for OLG’s live show back in 2019. Although I do respect his honesty and responsible act, I still have one question in my mind. Why didn’t he make a new public account and create a PSA regarding his backlogged orders earlier? He made new accounts for his TikTok and IG after Fyan called him out. Why not before? I just feel that his customers deserved the timely updates even with the issues he had as that would be much more understandable and sincere as compared to waiting for a call-out and responding after. Still, I admire his efforts for holding his ground and clearing the air.
