Photographer Deletes Photos After Being Denied Food At An Event That Pays $250 For 10 Hours
A photographer became the talk of the town after he deleted all the photos he took of the bride and groom when he was denied food during the wedding. In a reddit thread titled “Am I the Asshole”, a photographer shared his horrible experience of working for a friend.
In the post, he mentioned that he wasn’t a professional photographer and all he shoots are pictures of dogs because he is a dog groomer. His friend didn’t mind as they were on a shoestring budget and loved his photography.
The photographer agreed to shoot the couple for 10 hours with a measly pay of $250 for the sake of friendship.
However he was made to follow the bride around even before the ceremony as she went around going for her pre bridal appointments. At about 5pm when the food was being served, the photographer was told that he could not eat as they had not included him in the head count.
He then told the groom that he needed a 20 minutes break to grab a quick bite and hydrate. The groom denied his request, dropping an ultimatum saying that he could either be a photographer or leave without being paid.
The photographer then deleted all the photos and left the venue.
“With the heat, being hungry, being generally annoyed at the circumstances, I asked if he was sure, and he said yes, so I deleted all the photos I took in front of him and took off saying I’m not his photographer anymore.”
Netizens shared their two cents worth on the fiasco, saying that the couple deserved it for being stingy and unreasonable.
A hungry man is an angry man that should not be provoked.
Thank their lucky stars he is not a cannibal.
Some said that such behavior should not be condoned; however, being denied basic human rights is a legitimate reason to flip a table.
No written agreement, no breach.
While there isn’t a need to include the photographer or the wedding event crew in the headcount for food, there is no harm in letting them grab a quick bite when they can. At the end of the day, these people are humans too and they need to refuel.
Reporter’s Opinions: Why are you so fucking miserly towards a friend who isn’t even a professional photographer? The man is a dog groomer for goodness sake. He did it out of goodwill, you took advantage of that and denied him food when he’s been working for more than 10 hours?!
Can’t afford to feed him, atleast let the man grab a quick bite to replenish his energy. You didnt even have the fucking decency to treat him like a human being and then you’re surprised he deleted the photos? You deserve it.
No one works for exposure anymore, are we still in 2015?
