No More Safe Distancing Required: Major Relaxations for Covid Measures
Trace Together will no longer be a requirement in most places as Singapore goes back to DORSCON yellow.
From April 26, restrictions on group sizes will be lifted, safe distancing while still encouraged, will no longer be a requirement and all workers can go back to their workplaces.
While safe entry check-ins are no longer mandatory in most places, Min Ong urged people to keep the app and token in the event that the protocol is reactivated again.
Vaccinated differentiated measures still apply to dining in at F&B establishments. Safe-entry at the entrances however will no longer be needed. Sporadic spotchecks will be done but generally people are expected to adhere to the rule by themselves.
“The onus is on the patrons and customers to ensure that they are fully vaccinated before dining in F&B establishment,” – Min Ong
He said that the significant reduction of self-entry check-in points across the island will reduce operation costs and is a “key psychological step” in resuming normalcy.
Health risk notices will cease as well and those infected with Covid-19 will not need to upload their Trace Together data from April 26 onwards.
Netizens had mixed reactions to the easing of measures, most saying it is welcomed after a long time of adhering to them.
Most were not happy with having to go back to workplaces. WFH has become the norm and the thought of going back to the office is unbearable.
This one is what we call rubbing salt on people’s wounds.

The otter will be missed.
Better not, Min Ong already said not to do it.
Priorities, eh. Give you nightlife, you want more.
The best part of not needing safe-entry is that malls are easily accessible now, without the detours and the specific entry and exit points.
Reporter’s Opinions: I can hear all the office workers crying as they’re required to go back to offices now. I mean most would have gone back to work by now but it was still staggered.
People have gotten so used to work from home/anywhere that the thought of being in a cubicle is dreadful.
This is the new normal, we’ve been waiting for it for 2 years. Now that it’s here, it kinda feels surreal.
