Najib Razak To Play Late Father In Malaysian TV Series, Netizens’ Opinions Split
Najib Tun Razak, who is infamous for the 1MDB scandal and his viral memes involving “super ring” snacks, will appear in a cameo role in the Malaysian TV series, “Tunjang”, as his late father and second prime minister of Malaysia, Tun Razak Abdul Hussein.
Tunjang (Malay for support or root) talks about Tun Razak’s fight in the 50’s and the establishment of FELDA (Federal Land Development Authority). Judging by his Facebook post, Najib seemed to enjoy his new experience as a cameo actor.

When asked how he felt, Najib mentioned that it was a sweet new experience for him.
“It is a sweet new experience for me. I was able to play a different character and conveyed a beautiful message. It is meaningful as I am able to be part of a show that depicts Tun Razak’s struggle and legacy.” –Najib Tun Razak
Netizens had mixed reactions to seeing Najib portraying his father in the series. Some were of the opinion that he is suited to play the role as the son of the legendary Tun Razak. They even mentioned that he looked like his father.
There are those who said Najib resembled Amitabh Bachan, a legendary Bollywood actor who rose to prominence in the 70s.
And then there are those who believed that Najib should not be playing the role of his father as Najib was corrupt.
They raised valid points.
The discussion about his crimes and corruption have continued and will continue on for years, but clearly there are still Malaysians who support the ex-premier trying out new experiences instead of serving time.
Reporter’s Opinions:I’ll just leave this here.
The show haven’t hit the screens yet and he’s already made a profit of 2.6 billion.
Enough said.
