Malaysian Preacher Called Down To Federal Police Station To Give Statement On Sexual Allegations
Ustaz Ebit Lew was called down to Federal police station HQ at Bukit Aman to give his statement with regards to the sexual allegations.
It is reported that he took over an hour recording his statement.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan confirms that UEL’s statement was recorded to facilitate on-going investigations.
UEL said that the fitnah or the accusations flung at him is indeed heavy but he’s letting the police do their work. He also mentioned that he’s forgiven those who slandered him.
“This doesn’t break my spirit and I will continue helping those in need for as long as I can.” -UEL
Netizens came to UEL’s defence, saying that the good and patient will always be tried.
Well said, even Rasulullah SAW was not spared from slander.
It is the end of times, thus the rampant slander and smear campaign. Rien expresses his sadness at how fellow Muslims are the ones behind such tactics.
Others prayed for UEL, believing in his innocence till proven otherwise.
In the same vein, the federal police advised the public to not make any speculation or provocative posts as the case is still under investigation.
Sometime last month UEL was embroiled in a controversy which blew up on social media when Caprice called him out for not inviting him on the Palestine aid tour.
The pot was stirred further when allegations of sexual misconduct of a famed preacher came to light in various Facebook postings.
Investigations are still on-going.
Reporter’s Opinions: Here we go again, another wave of cancelling. Frankly, I abhor the current wave of cancel culture. It’s anarchy and no room to allow people to correct their mistakes.
And even if they’re putting in effort to correct themselves, others will find a way to nitpick to the point where these people just give up.
Who gave you the right to be judge and jury? How are you any different from the bullies who used to bully you?
Remember, human beings are fallible but that doesn’t mean we cannot celebrate their goodness.
Even if UEL erred, chalk it up to human fallibility and don’t discredit the good work that he’s done. Of course no offence should go unpunished. However we need to focus on behavior rectification.
