“Its Not Much, Thank You For Your Hardwork” Husband Gave $1200 To Wife As Gift For Breas
What we seek from our significant other is appreciation and one woman in Japan received that in a rather quirky form.
The Japanese woman who goes by the name Daichici received 10 000 yen from her husband as a token for breastfeeding their child for 6 months in 2018.
On their son’s half-birthday, her husband handed over an envelope with a message that reads,
“It’s not much, but this is in appreciation for the past six months. Use it however you’d like, and thank you for all your hard work.”
Daichichi jokingly asked her husband if she would receive payment for her services after finding out that babies require about 140 000 yen (SGD1775) worth of formula milk in their first year itself. She didn’t expect to receive anything, but her husband felt that he wanted to do something nice for his wife in recognition of the loving care and dedication to their son.
She mentioned that she is blessed to have such a thoughtful husband. She likened the experience as mixture between pride and gratefulness to be appreciated for the first job she ever worked at.
Her tweet was met with a chorus of congratulations from netizens who said that she is lucky to have a partner who is appreciative of her efforts and sacrifice.
What do you think? Should mothers be appreciated with a token for their hardwork?
Reporter’s Opinion: Wow, what a gesture.
Not that a mother’s sacrifice can be quantified but it is nice to be appreciated once in a while.
Plus, breastmilk is liquid gold. No amount of money can truly remunerate the benefits of it and of course, we wouldn’t want it to be turned into another money-making scheme, do we?
