Luahan wartawan: Well, its no surprise that jobs get mundane over time regardless of how pumped we were before starting.
Its nice to switch things up once in a while and getting that positive energy back from her students while working is revitalising.
Surprisingly, her style reminds me of my English teacher in primary school. He did not teach me in an interesting way per se, but he knows how to motivate his students, particularly me.
Long story short, I lost my red Game Boy which was my only source of entertainment as a kid.
Now, imagine my surprise when he told me to check the front of my doorstep where I found a small brown parcel with a black Game Boy inside after I told him about my loss.
There was no guarantee back then that I will ace my PSLE because of this “motivation”. But, that simple and kind gesture goes a long way and you have done your job as a teacher extremely well if I can still remember you after all these years.
Thankfully, it motivated me and now, I’m pursuing my Bachelor’s in English and I’m given a chance to contribute to Plan B 🙂
Sincerely, thank you to all the teachers out there!
