Cute Bat Eats Banana In NTUC, Netizens Give Humourous And Sympathetic Responses
A bat was found helping itself to a bunch of ripe bananas hanging from a shelf in NTUC at Jurong East.
Yeah, you heard it right.
In a post on All Singapore Stuff that has since went viral with over 1.7k shares, the bat was seen to be indifferent as the camera continues to film it chewing through the label and the skin to get to the sweet juicy fruit inside.
Netizens reaction to the post was filled with humour and sympathy for the bat as it seemed hungry.
Some were of the opinion that it is expected considering their natural habitats are being destroyed.
Well, it can be a form of marketing.
It is most likely a fruit bat that is common in Singapore. Their diet mainly consists of fruits and nectar. It is not uncommon to sight them during the day although they are mainly nocturnal mammals.
Reporter’s opinion: Is it Halloween yet?
Jokes aside, even when the bat is adorable, its bite is dangerous. You won’t become a vampire but you can get rabies.
Do not approach a lone bat anywhere unless you’re a trained professional. And if you’re bitten, wash and clean the wound and seek immediate medical treatment.
