Jurong Pioneer JC decided to hop on the viral “No Backpack Day” trend on Tiktok and their students had creative ways of bringing their essential items to school.
A TikToker, jia.enn, who is a student of the JC uploaded a video capturing her schoolmates creativity. The video went viral with over 380k views overnight.
First up, we have the fuss free classic. Just carry essential notes to school.
There were those who used shoeboxes which were readily available.
A variety of shelving organizers are also seen.
A future lecturer here with the file organizer. Most teachers will be seen lugging this around.

But perhaps this one is the most noteworthy.
There is a Cold Storage somewhere missing a shopping basket. Remember to return shopping baskets after use.
The Cold Storage basket caught the attention of many netizens in the comments section.
Some were surprised that Singapore had such a day, following the trend that’s mostly done in the West.
Now that’s a bit too much, no? Bet it made him popular with those who need to heat up their meals from convenience stores.
Please return baskets and carts after use, not repurpose them like this.
This is undeniable, there are students who practice “No Backpack Day” regularly.
Just bring the essentials.
The whole purpose of the “No Backpack” challenge is to raise awareness of 120 million children around the world that go to school without a bag. They hand carry all their essential items to and fro.
While the challenge is predominantly popular in the West, it is nice to see some local action as well.
Reporter’s Opinions: Frankly this isn’t the first time I see students going to school without a backpack.
Back when I was in secondary school, it was a norm. We had students who came to school with just a plastic file or a fanny pack. There are those who brought bags along merely for fashion because it is empty. Books and notes were kept in false ceilings and under the table because our textbooks were freaking heavy.
And yeah, I was one of them. My sling bag was filled with snacks, a journal, a novel and my pencil case.
