In the sharing session, UEL mentioned that faith is for everyone regardless of what they have done in their lives. He went on with his slogan of ‘God loves everyone’ and urged people to continue doing good for goodness sake.

An interesting point that Abang Long Fadhil made was that the light of faith is usually found in the darkest of nights.

UEL mentioned that he was touched by how these people were still positive despite the challenges they faced in life.

Ustazah Kalthom and Ustaz Nuzhan from NJU also had the opportunity to be part of a sharing session with UEL. It was a quick one as UEL was only in Singapore for less than a day.

Ustaz Nuzhan mentioned that the main purpose was to form familial bonds with UEL since NJU and UEL both shared similar values of preaching without judgment. When asked if there are future plans of collaboration between them, Ustaz Nuzhan said that UEL would love to work together if time permits.

Nadiah M Din mentioned that she missed the chance to meet UEL and hoped that there will be a next time.

We wish UEL all the best in his missionary work and hopefully, he will be able to spend more time here the next time he comes.

Reporter’s Opinions:There is nothing wrong in welcoming people of faith with pomp, especially when their style of preaching revolves around love and acceptance. They are messengers of peace and love.

The problem arises when these people are put on a pedestal, and they forget that they are merely messengers and start acting like God. That is when you have camps of people fighting and then these messengers get blamed for having a cult-like presence. When in actual fact, most of these messengers never asked for people to become their fanatics.

Like UEL himself said, he does it for God’s love, not for human adoration.

Yes, there are those who love the adoration and somehow end up running a cult of their own but most of the time, it is the fanatics that cause problems for the ones who are just doing faith work in this world.

Food for thought.
