His Instagram post was deemed as insensitive by many.
Some even called him a troll for his views that do not reflect well on his title as a politician.
Bowyer also has his fair share of fans and followers who believe that his voice deserved to be heard.
There are those who say that his views are similar to far right American politicians with fear mongering.
Bowyer’s post also raised the question of PSP’s credibility by some.
Bowyer made a post explaining that his views do not represent PSP as a whole and their credibility should not be put in jeopardy because of him.
“I understand that some of my views are diverging from Progress Singapore Party’s positions, and so I have a choice to make.
I believe Progress Singapore Party has massive value to add, indeed its clear from the recent national day speech by the PM that changes in thinking and policy are already being influenced by it, so in that respect I do not want to give anyone the chance to derail their good work. So, in that regard today I am tendering my resignation from Progress Singapore Party.”
However, in that very same post, it was clear that he stands firmly with what he believes in about the vaccination drive efforts.
“I have no time for the cancel culture as Singapore is in a crisis now, a crisis created, in no small part, by the government itself, its reactive one-dimensional mishandling of the situation and now this dangerous divisive path they are taking us on.
Now some of you may think you have a small victory here but before you start celebrating understand it is a pyrrhic one because in my mind this removes the few limits that being part of PSP I placed upon myself and the gloves can now fully come off!”

Bowyer’s tweets from 2020 seem to show that he believes in vaccine alternatives like hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malaria drug, to help combat the virus.
The same sentiment was originally shared by Trump when he was still in office.

Brad Bowyer was also the first politician to be issued a correction direction under POFMA in 2019 for criticizing GIC, Temasek amongst other government linked companies for certain investments that would cause financial losses.
Reporter’s Opinions: Zip it Karen, keep your antivax sentiments to yourself. While I agree the current regulations can be a hassle for some, but to call it discrimination is misleading.
For those who cannot be vaccinated due to allergies and medical conditions, I am sure there will be other alternatives for them. But for the rest of us, it is a choice we can make for our own protection. While the efficacy of the vaccines are being debated on, it does not mean that the vaccines don’t work.
In this age, everyone seems to have an “expert opinion” on everything thanks to the amount of information we can get online. However, are you really qualified as an expert to give out your opinions as facts that are backed up by dodgy medical journals and editorials? Have you studied in the field for years to make a sound judgment or are you being swept away by the noise?

Even in Islam we are encouraged to seek treatment if we are unwell for the betterment of the society we are living in. Seeking treatment, getting vaccinated does not mean that we undermine His power to heal us, rather we place faith in His healing through the various means that are presented to us.
Unfortunately, this is also the age of misinformation due to the sheer amount of knowledge that is available online. Keep yourself grounded.
