Adorable Teen Sneezes On TikTok, Goes Viral
A video of an adorable teen sneezing went viral on TikTok when she accidentally uploaded it.
Jiddana Dusturia or affectionately known as Grina on TikTok didn’t expect her sneezing video to blow up with over 10.7 million views. In the video, she was sitting down in front of the camera and it seems she was about to create proper content before sneezing adorably.
“I was setting the camera up to record the content I had planned but as I was sitting down, my nose itched, and I sneezed. I left the [sneezing] video in the drafts. And then I accidentally pressed upload, and at that time I didn’t realize that it had been uploaded to my TikTok,”
-Grina in an interview with Tribun, an online Indonesian editorial
Grina then continued about her day when her friends told her that her sneezing video landed on TikTok’s For You Page (FYP). When a video lands on the app’s FYP, it means that the video went viral thanks to TikTok’s algorithm.
The comment section was flooded with netizens sending blessings down her way after sneezing.
As well as some salty creators who cannot believe that it took a single sneeze for Grina to gain virality.
She has since uploaded another video to introduce herself to her recent followers.
So Grina’s video went viral without the help of hashtags. Which begs the question, what exactly is defined as content nowadays?
Reporter’s Opinion: This reminds me of when Didit’s video of him doing nothing for 2 hours on YouTube went viral.
While it was a tongue-in-cheek reply to the haters who were slamming him for his lack of educational content, Grina went viral by accident.
TikTok’s algorithm is interesting to say the least because there are tons of videos without hashtags that will end up on the FYP. And while some are wholesome quality content where the creators are sending good vibes down your way, there are also questionable content where all the creator did was smolder into the camera.
I guess this is the age where no content is still content?
